NAEIR E-xpress Help
Accessing NAEIR E-xpress
For future access to NAEIR E-xpress after completing the initial signup process, go to NAEIR's web site at www.naeir.org and click on the "Members Only - e-xpress" link. This will take you to the E-xpress Login page.
DO NOT ATTEMPT TO SIGN UP FOR NAEIR E-XPRESS AGAIN AFTER COMPLETING THE INITIAL SIGNUP PROCESS.
Requesting Items
When you request an item, the quantity entered is "reserved" for your organization. No other member is able to request your "reserved" quantity. You may even leave the web site, shut down your PC, and return to the E-xpress web pages later. The "reserved" items will still be assigned to your organization -- FOR A LIMITED TIME.
If you have not submitted your request by 11:00 p.m (Central Time) on the next business day following the day you requested the item, the requested items will be returned to available inventory. NAEIR E-xpress business days are defined as Monday through Friday -- no provisions are made to exclude holidays.
You may request multiple items in quantities up to the "available" limit displayed on the item's detail description page.
Completing Your Request
When you have finished selecting all of the item(s) for your request, DON'T FORGET TO CLICK THE ">>Submit This Request" button on the "Your E-xpress Selections" page (you may click on the "NAEIR truck" icon at any time to reach the "Your E-xpress Selections" page and view your selections or submit your request.)
Your request is not complete and the item(s) will not be shipped until you click the ">>Submit This Request" button. Uncompleted requests will eventually be deleted and the "reserved" quantities returned to available inventory (see "Requesting Items" above.)
When you click the ">>Submit This Request" button, your request is assigned a Confirmation number.
Reviewing a Request
To review a Request after it has been submitted (or if you are unsure that you have actually completed your request), click on the "Review a Request" link at the bottom of any web page on the NAEIR web site. This page has a "drop-down" box that allows you to review any of your previous requests by the Confirmation number.
"Bulk" Items
"Bulk" items are those items that cannot be shipped via Federal Express. These items are either too large, too heavy, or both. In order to deliver these items to our members, we use commercial truck line carriers. Therefore we have setup an approval process that lets you "accept" or "reject" the actual freight charges before we ship the item. The steps in the process are defined below.
  1. On a "Bulk" item's detail description page, there is a link to a window that contains the estimated freight charges for delivery of the item to twelve different cities in various parts of the country. Based on this, you may be able to determine if the cost of acquiring the item is worth pursuing further.
  2. If you elect to request the "Bulk" item, and you complete your request, THE ITEM IS NOT AUTOMATICALLY SHIPPED TO YOUR ORGANIZATION. It is temporarily placed into "reserve" and no other organization can request it.
  3. Your completed request initiates the sending of an email to our Traffic department. Within four business hours, they will calculate the exact shipping cost to your organization and send you back an email with built-in links that let you "accept" or "reject" the charges. You will have 48 hours to make your decision.
  4. If you "reject" the charges, or if 48 hours has passed without a response to the email, the item will be removed from your request and will be placed back into available inventory for other members to request.
  5. If you "accept", the item will be shipped and you will be invoiced for the exact shipping charge you accepted.
It should be noted that because of our volume business with many major freight carriers, we are able to offer an attractive shipping rate to our members. This shipping cost plus the associated Administrative fee should still make the "Bulk" item a good bargain.
